Forbes List: Berlin founder is among "30 Under 30 Europe 2025"

  • Berlin-based climate tech company Purpose Green gains international attention
  • Forbes includes Berlin co-founder Lucas Christel in the list of “30 Under 30 Europe 2025”
  • He is one of Europe’s most influential young personalities in the field of “Manufacturing & Industry”

Berlin, April 30, 2025 – Founded in 2023, the Berlin-based climate tech company Purpose Green is gaining increasing importance – also among international real estate and business experts. Lucas Christel, co-founder and managing director of Purpose Green ( purpose-green.com ), has now been included in Forbes' list of "30 Under 30 Europe 2025." With this award, the business magazine annually honors 30 young talents in various categories who are rethinking entire industries with their ideas, innovations, and visions. In the "Manufacturing & Industry" category, Christel is now officially one of Europe's most promising minds. Of the 300 honored talents, over ten percent are from Germany.

Green transformation in the building sector
In 2023, brothers Lucas and Lennart Christel, together with Okitonga Memba, founded Purpose Green. Their vision: to support property owners, managers, and institutional funds in transforming their buildings into environmentally friendly, future-proof properties. Within a very short time, the three founders have already secured more than €16 million in venture capital funding and are already working with over 2.5 million square meters of real estate. The founders are no strangers to the industry: Even before Purpose Green, the Christel brothers developed a PropTech company that was backed by renowned investors.

"Berlin is a place where you feel that change is possible – that's why I returned home after my studies and founded Purpose Green here with my brother and Okitonga Memba. The city brings together bright minds, bold ideas, and real implementation strength. It was precisely this environment that enabled us to build Purpose Green and demonstrate how digitalization and sustainability can transform the real estate sector. Being included on the Forbes list is a great recognition – and for me personally, an incentive to continue taking on responsibility, creating digital solutions for the real estate industry, and combining profitability and sustainability with holistic approaches," says Lucas Christel.

Optimization potential

Low

According to the brief analysis of the building, the building appears to be in good to very good condition in terms of energy. According to the demand calculation carried out, the building has "low" optimization potential. Testing more energy-efficient operation of the building can be a good measure for maintaining energy efficiency. Optimized operation can lead to lower heating costs for tenants and CO₂ costs for the landlord. Individual CAPEX measures can also secure the current condition of the building in the long term.

Following the brief analysis of the building, we recommend that you review and implement targeted energy measures. According to the requirements calculation, the building has "medium" optimization potential, which speaks for further energy optimization. A full ESG report, including iSFP / DIN V 18599, is advisable for an exact determination. This detailed report is prepared after an on-site inspection by our energy efficiency experts and building technicians. As a result, sensible energy CAPEX measures as well as the associated costs and possible subsidies can be determined, identified and implemented with Purpose Green.
